If you joined the Plan before 1999, you’re probably a member of the defined benefit (DB) Section (also known as the final salary section).
The DB Section is now closed to new entrants.
Factor update
Following advice from the Scheme Actuary, the factors used to convert pension into a cash lump sum at retirement have changed.
This means the cost of taking cash at retirement has increased, so you will generally need to give up more pension than before to receive the same amount of cash.
As a result, new retirement quotations may show different figures from those you have received in the past.
